BIRDING SAFARIS UGANDA
LAKE MBURO,BWINDI ,KIBALE AND QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARKS
11 DAYS IN UGANDA
Day 1: Travel To Lake Mburo National Park
This morning we shall transfer to Lake Mburo national park. The park is 3-4 hours from Kampala to reach in the afternoon. You will have lunch and then go for a bird search in the Rwonyo area. Watch out for birds like the spot-flanked Barbet, Bare-faced go-away bird, Green wood-hoopoe and Yellow throated Apalis. Overnight at Mantana / Rwonyo Camp.
Day 2: Lake Mburo Birding Safaris
You will wake up to heavy breakfast, carry packed lunch and then you will head through the park to spend the whole day in the park searching for birds. Overnight at Mantana / Rwonyo Camp.
Day 3:To Bwindi National Park
On this day you will transfer to Bwindi National park. the drive will take you about 7 hours to reach the park in the evening.
Overnight at Gorilla forest camp / Buhoma community homestead.
Day 4: Birding Safaris in Bwindi
Spend the whole day in the park looking for birds. Overnight at Gorilla forest camp / Buhoma community homestead.
Day 5 & 6: Uganda Birding Safaris along the Water fall Trail
Birding safaris along the waterfall trail for the whole day. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla forest camp / Buhoma community homestead.
Day 7 & 8: Travel To Kibale NP
In the morning have breakfast and then transfer to Kibale National park. Ndali lodge/ primates lodge.
Day 9:Birding Safaris in Uganda Rainforest Kibale /Kibale Chimpanzee Trekking
Today you will go for a walk in the morning through this rainforest in search of both chimpanzees and birds. Return to your lodge for lunch and then later in the afternoon go for a walk in the Bigodi wetland area to search for more birds. Expect birds like papyrus Gonolek, Scaly-throated Honey guide, White winged Warbler, papyrus Canary, Bocage’s Bush shrike mosque swallow and many more. Overnight at luxurious Ndali Lodge.
Day 10: Travel To Queen Elizabeth
Depart for Queen Elizabeth. The drive will take you about 3-4 hours reaching the park in the afternoon. You will have lunch and then go for a launch cruise on the Kazinga channel. This will reward you with plenty of water birds including king fishers, pink pelicans, to mention but afew. Overnight at Mweya Safari lodge/ Mweya hostel.
Day 11:Birding Safaris in Uganda 's Queen Elizabeth NP
Spend the whole day birding in Queen Elizabeth National park. Overnight at Mweya Safari lodge/ Mweya hostel.
Day 12: Departure To kampala
In the morning you will have breakfast and then drive back to Kampala.
